I just saw Melt-Banana live...

I can't hear a thing! I should wear earplugs next time.

Their guitarist rules.

Rob Instigator 06.18.2008 04:49 PM

They should call them Melt Yr Face Banana

Derek 06.18.2008 04:51 PM

Yes, that would be more appropiate. They closed with Shield for Your Eyes, A Beast in the Well on Your Hand.

Everyneurotic 06.18.2008 04:55 PM

when i saw them, they opened with "shield for your eyes..." i don't remember much of how i started slamming and how i got out of it to catch my breathe but it was one of the best experience in my life.

best show of the year for me, love melt-banana live; and yeah, agata is probably the best guitartist i've seen live.

Toilet & Bowels 06.18.2008 05:23 PM

saw them on monday, there is not a more fun live band than melt banana, seeing them again next week, it will be my 10th time i think

This Is Not Here 06.18.2008 05:32 PM

I was going to see them at either of the London dates, alas financial hard times are here. Enjoy it for me though.

Toilet & Bowels 06.18.2008 05:45 PM

steal some money, they only play here every two or three years

Everyneurotic 06.18.2008 10:45 PM

m-b is a band i would gladly see 20 times if i had the chance.

Derek 06.19.2008 05:47 AM

It's the next day and my hearing hasn't properly came back!

They are definitely a fun live band, but not in a jolly happy kind of way. The crowd were well behaved at the gig in A'dam.
No bouncing around, whatsoever. Most eyes were on Agata, that's for sure.

Derek 06.19.2008 06:21 AM

I was right at the front and kept getting bashed into by the copious amounts of MOSHERS.

pokkeherrie 06.19.2008 06:25 AM

Saw them last week as well. They're fun, but also a bit of a one-trick pony in my opinion. Every show I've been to (four I think?) has been very much the same. Exactly the same stage talk/banter, the same segment with 7/8/9/whatever short songs, etc... It's a cool trick, but it didn't excite me as much anymore as it did the first couple of times.

Agata is AWESOME.

Really? Must be the Dutch soberness then.

Toilet & Bowels 06.19.2008 06:30 AM

i would be extremely disappointed if there was no bouncing around

In Utrecht people were bouncing. Not me though, I only needed little space.

Extremely disappointed? Why?

Toilet & Bowels 06.19.2008 06:36 AM

because i like to bounce around too

pokkeherrie 06.19.2008 06:41 AM

Don't let other people stop you from enjoying a show... bounce on their toes.

You make up for it by headbanging. I've seen it! :D

pokkeherrie 06.19.2008 06:49 AM

nah, no headbanging to melt banana... too fast.

johnnywinternoshow 06.19.2008 07:34 AM
