The namesake of Where the Red Fern Grows is a children's coming of age novel that I had to read for 4th grade.

My entire (barring me and about 2 others) 5th and 6th grade English classes (teachers included) bawled like babies when we watched the movie in class.

They all fucked? Kinky.

Yes I know what that means.

My mom once told me that when she was a teenager she told a friend she was so upset she bawled all night long, and they thought she meant that she balled all night.

I had trouble in reading class. It was hard for me to get past the Dr. Seuss books. I had a dog get run over about the time we were reading Go Dog, Go and that traumatized me for life.
