I like Aliens a lot too, but it's Alien 3 that wins it for me - good story, supremely atmospheric film.

the first alien remains unsurpassable in its reframing of science fiction myths: only a year after star wars? and no princesses, no fucking magicians, no superscience, only working stiffs being fucked over by "the company".

I haven't seen any of the Alien movies.

Alien. Brilliant. Kind of not-so-brilliant nowadays, but still one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time.

On a side note, Alien vs. Predator (PC, not SNES) was a kick-ass game. So was the second one.

I voted the first because when I saw it I was quite young and it was great. I had an alien toy as well that squirted water from its smaller mouth.

For me it's all about the second one. However, I do love the orginal Alien and Alien 3 was cool too. Resurrection was pretty lame and Alien vs Predator was just a sad attempt to milk a few more dollars out of two dead franchises.

I went with Alien but Aliens is right up there with it.

The first two were really good. Y+The third one was ok. The last one sucked. Winona Ryder cannot act worth a damn. She should just become a nude model and cut out all the acting crap. No one cares what she says as long as she shows off her hot body. Anyone with me?

Too bad that'll never happen since her contract has an anti-nudity clause...

But fuck you anyway, Winona Ryder rocks.

first is best...ridley scott...young sigourney in her underwear...the classic operating table scene...harry dean stanton...yaphet kotto...cool homages to 2001...more patient development of suspense...a classic thriller...lots of atmosphere...riskier dialogue...it's a '70s movie

the second is a good action movie & a great sci-fi action movie...sigourney's ripley-as-badass...reiser as detestable villian...breakout for paxton from chet in hughes' weird science letdown...plentiful great special effects...spawned a good arcade machine & some cool videogames...early james cameron vehicle coming off The Terminator

The first one has the suspense and fear.
The second one is all about action.
