i've tried to twitter, but.. i just don't do anything interesting enough to warrant being on there. not that the majorty of twitter does, but yeah.

i've seen twitter, but can't really see the appeal.

I really just use it because I have a job in social media, and it's good for promotion and sharing links. Just another internet 'trend'

i heard stephen fry gave a minute by minute twitter about being stuck in a lift for two hours with several people with hilarious results apparantly.

he's smart, witty, amazing

but he's everywhere

Fry irritates the hell out of me. Has done for a long time. And I'll tell you for why. It's precisely the sort of intellect in popular culture that doesn't really say or do anything intellectual. I mean, he's masses more intelligent than me, but what does he do with his intelligence? A not-very-funny comedy show where he (and his researchers) have factwanks; he writes fourth-rate books that manage to be less intellectually edifying the Ben Elton; he's a columnist for the Guardian; he used to be in a very witty but not necessarily clever comedy duo and he was in Blackadder.

Now. It's not precisely his fault but I think it shows a severe lack in British popular culture that Fry, like Vorderman, is 'the people's intellectual'. Because, of course, the British people can't cope with the idea of an intellectual having some sort of insight or interest in the world beyond trotting out that same fucking fact about every town in Britain having an archaic name for a river twice in its name.

ALSO my Mum used to like him but then he ran away and she was quite upset and anyone who upsets my Mum needs a good kicking.

The only people I know who are on Twitter are marketing sorts. I don't tend to like marketing sorts.

That Fry bloke once narrated an interesting doc about gutenberg and letterpress shit.

As for twitter, why limit your pointless ramblings to 140 characters, when you can make them endlessly long and post it on the forums of the 'nternets.
