Rock'n'Roll's Defining Moments
I'm making an artwork at school, composed of lots of small drawings which show R'n'R's defining moments. I'm trying to create a sort of history of R'n'R, and this is what I have so far:
-"Rock Around the Clock" -Elvis Presley appearing on the Ed Sullivan Show -The Day the Music Died -"Love Me Do" -The British Invasion -"(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" -Bob Dylan goes electric -"Sgt Peppers..." -Woodstock -Beatles break up -"Dark Side of the Moon" -Sex Pistols on the Bill Grundy Show/arrival of punk -Death of Elvis -Murder of John Lennon -"Thriller" -Live Aid -The Battle of Britpop -Kurt Cobain's suicide -Live 8 Any ideas about what I should add? I'm trying to keep it somewhat mainstream, so people will be able to recognise the the people in the images, so I've left out things such as Ian Curtis' suicide. |
what are you going to draw for kurt cobain's suicide?

I don't know. These aren't what I'm going to draw, just ideas.

Stick some Bowie into the early 70's - if you need a single "moment", either Starman on Top of the Pops or "killing" Ziggy at the height of his fame.

Me and Melly were discussing this very thing last night, over ales. You really ought to somehow show the moment where Scotty Moore said 'fuck it' and ripped into 'That's Alright (Mama)' with Elvis at the Sun Studio.
Also, what about Altamont? (the 'death' of the sixties and all that) and the birth of MTV? |
