Has anyone heard this guy? I saw him live a couple years ago, I forget who he was opening for, and it was fucking trippy. He goes up on stage with long black metal-hair and a black t-shirt, then starts playing folk guitar and singing in a ridiculously high voice. It was almost hard to process.

I met him afterwards, and he had a completely normal voice. He was an incredibly nice guy.

Anyway, he just released his first record on Sub-Pop. It's folk, and and his voice is weird as shit, so it won't be everyone's cup of tea.

Haha. I'll check that out, sounds right up my alley.

I saw him open for either Mission of Burma or Explosions in the Sky, it slips my mind right now. I was sort of far from the stage so for his entire set I was convinced he was actually a she. His vocal high end really is unreal.
