What do you do for money?

I am about to go to my job as a Pet Nurse for 10 hours wheeee

MellySingsDoom 08.27.2008 08:41 AM

I work for a music royalty collecting place in Soho, London. Can be v stressful, but we have lovely people here, by and large, and working in Soho rocks bigtime.

Being a Pet Nurse must be pretty cool, eh? A good, useful vocation as well.

tesla69 08.27.2008 08:42 AM

- stock groceries (part time so i only make $800 a month but i still live at home)
- buy and sell old video games online (usually nets me a decent $100-300 a month)
- sell cd's i've made (haha.. nets me maybe $5 a week if i'm lucky)
- and am currently a LANDLORD haha ($200 a month)

I pay my mom to live here ($40 for electricity/water I use), and I help buy groceries (which is only like $20 a week). I also pay for the internet ($20), car insurance ($50), and gas ($10-15 a week). So, I come out ahead a little bit, I guess.

Oh, and I just started some new Netflix thing which is like $50 a month for 8 films at a time but I only pay half that.

I mooch off my parents. I've tried to get jobs in various eateries but the problem is that I'm not old enough to serve alcohol yet, and most restaurants serve it. Same deal for anywhere that sells DVDs.

ALIEN ANAL 08.27.2008 09:34 AM

i stretch canvas and pack boxes with art supplies

_slavo_ 08.27.2008 09:51 AM

I'm a media planner. I plan advertising campaigns.
the pay is very nice and i've got a company car and a company mobile phone to use for personal purposes.
plus we sometimes get a spontaneous day off, like we did last Friday.

Savage Clone 08.27.2008 09:56 AM

Morning:
Deliver/pick up/assemble futon furniture.
Sometimes in peoples' houses, sometimes at the shop.
Much moving and lifting of very heavy objects in many varieties of stairwells.
No helper. I work for very nice people though.

Afternoon:
Sell high-end collectible LPs online for the wife of a recently-deceased acquaintance who had a mammoth collection (once owned a store), and asked me to help sell it off after he passed away. It's huge and amazing and this will keep me busy for the next two years at least.

Everyneurotic 08.27.2008 10:04 AM

rip to shreds bands in various music journals in mexico and the uk.

plus i have a cd-r label and modest distribution online store.

while the diabolical laughter i cough up whenever i rate an album a 1 1/2 out of 5 is pretty priceless, i need to look for an additional source of income.

gualbert 08.27.2008 10:10 AM

Nothing:394€ a month.

I used to do something similar to you in my first job, Rob. The pay was atrocious and the hours long....but at least I didn't go to University!

Rob Instigator 08.27.2008 10:31 AM

I have been here for 8 years, the pay is fantastic, and I never ever have to take home work with me. no drug tests. lawyers hate those things.
very nice benefits, life insurance, health insurance, dental, eye , 401K, etc.
