"Hallowe'en" appreciation thread.
Last nite I listened to it over and over again. It's one of the most beautiful and creepy songs ever. Regardless of what inspired it, the title could be more perfect. If I could produce horror films, I'd open lots of them with this. Love it.

horror?
weird love song. love it to no end. |
Yeah. That's what I love about it. (And what they perfected a year later with EVOL) is that SOMEHOW they create a sound that is equally beautiful and horrifying. They combine a love song with a horror score. (In my head.) Awesome.

one of my favourite songs of all time. amazing atmosphere to this song, and some of my favourite vocals from Kim.
it's nice shit innit?
That guitar part is so incredible.
i actually like the mudhoney version more
crazy!

wha??? |
yup
That song sounds really "out there". Bad Moon Rising is my favorite SY album actually, especially for this "out there" atmosphere going through the whole album
"Brave Men Run" is probably my favorite on there. Especially when combined with "Intro."
My favorite duo is Ghost Bitch / I'm Insane. The transition between the two is incredible. Society Is A Hole / I Love Her All The Time is fantastic as well
in a thread a while back about favorite kim vocal performances or songs, i put this one. her voice just glides so nicely and mysteriously
Yes, her singing is absolutely perfect on this song. Spectral and fantomatic (okay that's the same thing)
Halloween is pretty cool and I really love the lyrics too. They're powerful lol I want to use the word ''FUCK''.

But yeah, Halloween has great lyrics too. "There's something shifting in the distance", I really like that line in particular |

That's my favorite part too. Such an awesome opening. |
a really great song. i think the cover of the album really describes the atmosphere of the song

The Flower/Hallow'een orange vinyl 12' is my absolute favourite SY fetish item. Everything is perfect... the sounds, the vinyl, the label, the sleeve.
It also reminds me of a very special time in my life. I moved down to London in 1985 and used to blast it through open windows from my first flat on Great Windmill Street on a regular basis. Also lets not forget the Halloween II 12" another ultimate SY fetish, Savage etched item. |
