I got to see Xiu Xiu, Prurient and these two god awful bitches who couldn't sing. While my friends had to go outside during Prurient's set, I stayed and found it very interesting. One of the better shows I've seen in a long time. He put on a much better show than my future lover, Jamie. My only question is: Is he always a pretentious asshole who never looks at the crowd?

That's what I've heard. It's his "gimmick".

How did the crowd question and answer thing with Jamie go? (if they did that at the show you went to)

The show I saw has been like all of the xiu xiu shows I've been to. Jamie doesn't say a word in between songs and then waves goodbye and says thank you and you never see him again. Maybe he doesn't like us Minnesotans.

Weird. I heard something about them doing a question and answer session in between songs at shows now.

The first time I saw them, they passed around a song list. And after every song, whoever that person who chose the last song passed the list off to, they got to choose the next song. That was an awkward sentence.

The last time I saw them, Jamie retuned his guitar about a thousand times.

When I saw Prurient, I thought he was musically very good and visually hilarious - he was wearing these, like, glam rock leather gloves and kept doing Alvin Stardust and William Bennett impressions. What a true hero he is.

in texas he said "thank you" a few times and laughed with us at all the bullshit going on in the venue (tons of glasses breaking at the bar). then afterwards he was just walking around and chatting.

Ditto. I really don't find much substance or replay value in his material. He was semi-entertaining when I saw him open for Xiu Xiu, though, if only for all the crazy inhuman freak outs.

And yeah, Jamie Stewart acted like a real jerk too, and he reeks of the worst smelling cologne ever. I wanted to gag.
