What would you do if..

If you thought you were sitting on a musical goldmine

(its a serious question but im very cheifed at the moment)

punkaspoo 10.14.2008 09:02 PM

stand up and stretch

jon boy 10.14.2008 09:10 PM

be more specific can you? are we talking in monatery terms or did you think you just came up with a great riff that will change the face of music forever?

atsonicpark 10.14.2008 09:17 PM

I am.

ALIEN ANAL 10.14.2008 09:18 PM

yeh sorry for not saying much

i have a large circle of friends that all play music pretty well and its all pretty natural to them

They are forever making tunes that sound so fresh

but non of them are getting heard by anyone except our selves

their sound isnt other worldly but its something special and i think that its a potential goldmine for great tunes aswell as possible financial success

atsonicpark 10.14.2008 09:27 PM

I have a friend who is one of the best musicians I've ever seen. Can literally play anything. A true musical prodigy, has had no training whatsoever. I mean, the dude can touch ANYTHING and make it sound great. But he's too lazy to play live very often, too lazy to advertise himself, etc. It's really remarkable. His bands have played live with My Chemical Romance (?! Don't ask, it was the early days of MCR), Melt Banana, An Albatross, and a lot of other well-known bands... but he still has no inclination to do anything with his talent.. it's weird.

He was in a band with this other dude who is the best keyboard player I've EVER heard, in any band EVER. I mean, this guy.. wow. He joined the band Murder by Death and they did this huge tour and then this guy quit and now he's working on film soundtracks in Texas or something.

ALIEN ANAL 10.14.2008 09:33 PM

yeh.... so back to the question
should i get them to make up demos and let me post them over the net?

StevOK 10.14.2008 09:43 PM

I'd download them.

SuperCreep 10.14.2008 09:45 PM

My ass is a musical goldmine?

ALIEN ANAL 10.14.2008 09:46 PM

id say they sound something like

if the mighty boosh were all the members of the brian jones town massacre that recorded with daniel jonhston and played every ween song ever

floatingslowly 10.14.2008 10:19 PM

damn. you had me until that part about Ween. lots of people love Ween though, so fuck what I think.

I'm sure I'd still listen to it.

ALIEN ANAL 10.14.2008 10:22 PM

well when i say ween ijust mean their diversity

floatingslowly 10.14.2008 10:58 PM

no need to further defend, I'm sure they would be very successful even if they did sound like Ween. and if Anton Newcombe wasn't such a genius, I'm sure I'd think BJM was a bunch of stinkin' hippies too. well, I DO think they are a bunch of stinkin' hippies, but I tolerate it because it's genius.

I say go on with yr bad self. get some bongos and you might even score yr name in a liner-note!

I have for ages, but I dont have the money. I'd start a label for at least two bands I know otherwise. They have mad talent.

so.. borrow some money.

pbradley 10.14.2008 11:04 PM

No, I'm sitting on an actual goldmine.

With a scoped rifle.

ALIEN ANAL 10.14.2008 11:05 PM

i will try get them to put together some rough albums with what they have and ill put it on the net and see what happpens

phoenix 10.14.2008 11:07 PM

oh they dont have a myspace or what not? def do that first. it's easy to see how popular you are on myspace. aha.

ALIEN ANAL 10.14.2008 11:19 PM

yeh they have no one besides their friends hearing them

its a pretty large group of people

my advice is dont look at music and musicians as a way to make money.
