|
oh i see it now.
this better not be red tide |
ugh.
Mother Love Bone, if only for the fact that Eddie Vedder isn't in the band. |

Exactly. There was still some small traces of Green River and Malfunkshun to be found in Mother Love Bone, even if it was all buried in the sincere butt rock posing. |
pearl jam but then i really like huh two or three tracks off their whole discography, i made a comp long ago out of my mates' CDs. It's an OK comp when i really have nothing new to listen to.
MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH |
mother love bone is one of the only cases i can think of where the posing actually destroys the sound. i agree with dead air to an extent but i went with pearl jam. i went off them a long time ago but i've been impressed at least with their ability to stay together as a band. not too many bands made it like that through all the 90s

pearl jam were my favorite band before SY. i still like to listen to them every few months. except for ten. i havent listened to that in nearly 4 years.
its an annoying albumn. and they have lost every ounce of integrity that they ever had |
Did they ever have integrity to begin with?
|
i prefer soundgarden
|
Soundgarden made some fine songs, very underrated in the mainstream.
|
I own four pearl jam albums and mother love bone's discography comp.
The negative rep flood should be epic |
soundgarden got tons of mainstream exposure are you kidding?
|

Uh, that's just patently ridiculous. Superunknown debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard Charts and received Grammy's for two singles. Badmotorfinger was certified platinum twice. Overall they've sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. Growing up in Seattle, when you say, "the other grunge bands" I immediately think of Mudhoney, Tad, Skin Yard, Swallow, and a large handful of other bands you wouldn't have been likely to hear of. Yeah, Nirvana were part of that scene, and got rather popular. And because much of Pearl Jam originally was in Green River with Mark Arm, they get lumped in with "grunge" even though their music was always overproduced mega-polished alternative rock. And if you were also thinking of lumping Alice in Chains in there, before they went alternative, they were a glam metal band. So of the "grunge" bands, Soundgarden are clearly one of the most commercially successful - even though by far their best material were their singles and eps for Sub Pop before they ever even caught on nationally. |
