its not even shocking to me anymore. I'm more suprised that most of the cities in the us are able to sustain themselves. Tbh the biggest mistake made in the past 5 years is showing how little they give a fuck about their own people in an emergency. You can spend brazilions!! On military, if you refuse to even help clear out and re build one of yr own cities in an emergency, you are gonna suck and panic if anyone actually tries to take you on. Unfort i honestly believe the country is fucked and will not last another 20 years without major damage caused by its own unwillingness to help it self, or by someone else gettioh tired of being pushed around.

I don't think you read it right, thats how much Australasia will spend for 2009, not how much the US spends on them. What the US spends is tha big blue chunk on the right, the $711 billion.

In Ethiopia the military budget will be $840 million, some 75% coming from the US, so I am sure that around $500+ million of that above military spending in US is going to the Ethio-Somali war.... alas alas.. oh yeah, and of course the $4billion a year spend by the US in Columbia to fight the secret Vietnam conflict of the 90s/2000s

I've heard they're in West Africa and providing a lot of funding and training there, and of course theres the recent establishment of Africa Command - they were unusually frank about it being about mineral resources & China - hadn't heard anything about Ethiopia though.

The ICU had no intentions of implementing a kind of government which Somalis would have enjoyed, and instead opted for a radically fundamentalist Islamic system, and the Somalis, while radical, are by no means fundamentalist muslims, in fact, they are what Utah folk by call Jack Muslims.

so anyways, the ICU declared war on Ethiopia September 2006, and this threat is serious, in 1977 there were nearly 200,000 somalis invading into Ethiopia.

The Ethiopians wanted to shut the ICU down, the US wanted to get back into East Africa, in December 2006 the check cleared in Ethiopia, $226 million in direct military-aid for intervention in Somalia. The Ethiopians have been there since Dec 26. They would have withdrawn in weeks without the continual US $$$ given to them to fight the proxy war, cuz remember blackhawk down, the US don't like Somalia very much, they are not so tuff there. The Ethiopians unfortunately have taken a hell on earth, and turned into hell itself.

I really enjoy your posts. The state of the world makes my head hurt, there are so many things that are unfixable, at least seem that way.
