the trip was a blast. expensive and now i'm poor as a church mouse but it was worth it.

no, we slept in dustbins.

hotels and hostels, of course. $25 for a room for one night is the maximum we paid (room for three people).

Yeah, I left Bangkok 2 days before the riots started. In fact, there were no indications whatsoever (if I don't count one elephant that I saw walking on Khao San street).

Actually, this reminds me, how I left the US one day before 9/11/2001, before all that that crap with closing airports and such. I'm a lucky escapist.
