bambi's dilemma "glitch" pedal?

On many tracks on Melt Banana's "Bambi's Dilemma", there is this... glitch... sound to some of the riffs. Kind of like the shortest and clearest echo ever. Very weird but cool sound. Specific examples include the verses in track 7 and the end of track 8. I know this is not something they did in post-/done digitally because Agata had that sound live. I don't recall him ever using that pedal, whatever pedal it was, on previous albums, so the pedal's probably not on display here: http://billtmiller.com/meltbanana/mb..._btm_0628z.jpg but it's a start. Any idea?

sorry I cant help. but I was wondering since Ive heard them for the first time.

what kind of pedal is the purple line6 one? the line6 delays are green, arent they? I would have thoughts it would be some kind of that then

I thought there were some serious gear heads on this board. Guess not!

I'm no whizz-kid when it comes to pedals or gear, but I read on some forum that it's done with a 2 pedal red boss delay/looper in combination with a stage mixer (don't ask me how). Another guess would be that he does it with an Akai Deep Impact SB1 or some sort of standalone sampling foot-pedal with variable-length sampling.

We'll probably never know. Happy hunting.

red boss delay looper? twin pedal? maybe its just a looper, i dont remember boss releasing a delay/looper pedal. digitech has done that. but theirs is blue.

I want all of those pedals. And more :(

sarramkrop 01.07.2009 05:32 PM

what's a 'glitch pedal'?

atsonicpark 01.08.2009 01:47 AM

That's why "glitch" is in quotes to begin with. I'm trying to figure out what pedal (or combination) makes some of his riffs... skip.

But yeah, it has to be the looping pedal I guess, stepping on and off of really quickly or something.

I can do this digitally by using buffer overdrive but... I don't think there's a buffer overdrive pedal.

I haven't heard that song, but the "glitchiest" pedal on there is the Boss PS-3, it's dual pitchshifter delay that makes the most insane sounds sometimes, like delay that keeps pitchshifted up and down or sounds like Zelda gone apeshit. I'd have to hear the track, but that might be it.

here's a demo from youtube that might help:
