Tinned Sweetcorn

Not because of any kind of allergy but because it tastes like dead wasps.

List your culinary prejudices here.

Powdered mashed potato - looks like tile sealant, and pretty much has the same taste, really.

Durian fruit - even the smell alone is enough to make me want to seriously heave.

Marrow - I've never been able to get on with this vegetable. Chewy, stringy, and a flavour so watery and weak it may as well be non existant. Bah.

Okra! Ladies fingers? If I knew any lady who had fingers as slimy as that I'd tell her to... stop sticking them in slimy places!

sarramkrop 01.11.2009 04:22 PM

Polenta = vomit cake

blunderbuss 01.11.2009 04:23 PM

Don't get me started on fucking tapioca.

sarramkrop 01.11.2009 04:25 PM

I once had to eat asda powdered mashed potato 'cause it was past midnight and i couldn't be bothered to go to the shop. it made me feel ill.

MellySingsDoom 01.11.2009 04:28 PM

Aslo - cabbage when boiled to death the English way. Argh! People, people, it's all about the Czech-style red cabbage every time, doncha know?

demonrail666 01.11.2009 05:03 PM

There's a Tesco homebrand pasta sauce that's about a quid for a jar. Anyway, it glows in the dark. Avoid.

StevOK 01.11.2009 05:05 PM

Celery makes me choke.

jimbrim 01.11.2009 05:20 PM

I occasionlly try eating brussel sprouts thinking one day I might actually grow to like them, but unfortunately I still feel like I'm chomping on a pile of rotting gremlin testes or something.

I was just chatting with one of my housemates about the beneficial powers of brussel sprouts a few minutes ago.

Sonic Youth 37 01.11.2009 05:54 PM

Mayonnaise
Iceberg lettuce
raw tomato
eggs (I can't stand any type of 'plain' egg including omelet)

There are loads more because I'm picky, but those are some of the major offenders

pokkeherrie 01.11.2009 06:47 PM

Shellfish.

Yuck, might as well eat bugs.

demonrail666 01.11.2009 06:51 PM

It's a cliche but marmite really does have me gagging in an instant.

I must be very weird for liking my veggies (except celery). I like broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts and spinach.

brussel sprouts contain a chemical that only some can taste, if you can taste it then sprouts will taste vile.

Savage Clone 01.11.2009 06:54 PM

Shellfish ARE bugs. Exoskeleton, zillions of legs, antennae = BUGS.

Besides the stuff vegans dont eat, which falls into my "default" category, here are some:

Avocado
Pea soup
Eggplant
Onions, unless they are cooked down to the point of nothingness
Rutabaga
Squash

And no, it's not because "I just haven't had a REALLY GOOD blahblahblah," it's because I honestly find these supposed "foodstuffs" to be disgusting.

Savage Clone 01.11.2009 06:55 PM

Oh, and canned spinach. YECCH. Fresh, yes. Canned, no way in fucking hell.
I also hate asparagus.

Not at all - I'm very much into the broccoli and spinach. Either or those steamed are rather popular in this household. I don't mind celery at all, though cucumber I find a bit watery, to be honest.

Savage Clone 01.11.2009 06:57 PM

Broccoli is great.
