On the info trail... (Loosefur, Jim O etc)

Any word on new material from the workhorse that is O'Rourke (apart from the drone stuff), Loose Fur, Wilco...? Oh and Lilly Allen.

He released Long night (is it whatit's called?) not long ago but it's a double CD set of older droney stuff. + a new one with Loren Connors which is also older live recordings. I think he's out of it for good now. He 's doing cinema in Japan. Too bad, i love this guy.

Last night I went on a downloading spree after having relistened to Eureka and Insignificance. Finally got Halfway to a Threeway, and Bad Timing. I also got both Loose Fur albums. Does anyone know of any other projects of his that are in the pop realm? I have an album he did with Superchunk that is totally fantastic.

I dont know how involved he was, but he had 'something' to do with Deerhoof's Offend Maggie. Nothing more than inspiration I guess. But like yourself, I love all of those records, so I'd recommend Deerhoof.

StevOK 02.12.2009 03:15 PM

Haha, thanks. I already have it. I'll have to give it a proper listen soon.

MellySingsDoom 02.12.2009 03:35 PM

Quick question: Was "Disengage" ever re-issued on CD?

he worked on a few stereolab records, and gastr del sol is song based, although debatably poppy
