the new Eminem song
is really fucking good. It has Dr. Dre and 50 Cent on it, and uses the same horn sample as "Preservation" on WU-TANG MEETS THE INDIE CULTURE. I like it a lot.

"Crack a Bottle" is the song. You can listen to it on http://www.myspace.com/eminem (2nd song)
It has Eminem rap/singing the chorus: "So crack a bottle, let your body waddle Don’t act like a snobby model you just hit the lotto O-oh o-oh, bitch3s hopping in my Tahoe Got one riding shotgun and no not one of them got clothes Now where’s the rubbers? Whose got the rubbers? I noticed there’s so many of them and there’s really not that many of us. Ladies love us, my posse’s kicking up dust. It’s on till the break of dawn and we’re starting this party from dusk" I like 50's input: he sounds relaxed. No aggressive spitting like in most of his raps. Not a bad track at all. Thanks for the heads up, noisereductions. |
Why can't Eminem make something as genius as the Marshall Mathers LP again?
|
Word is this will actually appear on 50 Cent's album.

really? Billboard lists it as Eminem featuring Dre & 50. I was hoping that Em was working on a new masterpiece in his Brian-Wilson-lab. |
yea its pretty good

My boyfriend likes this. Figures this would be what does it for him when he finally decides to give rap a chance.

decent stuff,... his first two albums are masterpieces.

^ agreed. And there's several latterday singles that were amazing. "Lose Yourself," "Sing For The Moment," "Like Toy Soldiers," and even "Purple Pills" off D12's first album is awesome.
|
Yeah the song's great. Before the Dre, 50, em one was released, there was a version with just eminem and it's worth hearing. Dre didn't live up to standards on is rapping, and I'm not the biggest 50 fan. But man Dre's production is still hawt. Check out the latest song (stream) he produced for, it's a completely new direction for his production.

new Xzibit track, produced by Dr. Dre

Sounds jazzy and happening. Phat bass line, and a background voice (probably from a keyboard) that reminds me of Animal Collective's awesome weirdness. pretty cool track... |
The solo 50 Cent track on Eminem's Myspace sounds pretty boring and uninspired to me - another "look at me with my bitches and money" snorefest. Big deal. The Eminem track is alrght though.
|
I think it was Rob who mentioned on another thread his disliking of rappers singing. I completely agree and this track is a good example of it. If anything I prefer Dre's verse (he sounds a bit like Mr Scarface). 50 Cent is, as usual, pointless.
|
50 is the weakest link here, yes. Dre sounds great. But I have never minded rappers switching it up and adding some sing-song.
|
no more fucking auto tune!!!!
|
I didnt hear any autotune?

it's on days like this that I realize Rob Instigator and I just need to put aside our petty NORTHSIDE>SOUTHSIDE rivalry and start jackin' motherfuckers. why Eminem is a globally-recognized rap star and I am not, is beyond me. |

Gifted Universal Rhymes Unlimited said it best: it's mostly the voice. Lyrics are certainly highly important in hip hop. But delivery and personality can pull off even the weakest of lines. Swagger is indeed an asset. |
