does anyone really use the alternate between windows function on vista?
 

in the same way it is actually useful on a mac?

My laptop is PC but the desktop I use the most is a mac, and I believe I just used the vista alternate windows 'animation' for the second time ever just now. Which was for fun. I use the switch between multiple times, every time I'm on a mac.

I guess alt tab is the same. So why bother with the fancy animation as well?

well, I didnt get a choice with the laptop OS. It has actually not done anything awfully stupid.. yet. Though network wise it seems to often not find things easily.
