the taxman cometh - ebay auctions

the taxman laid down the law on my wife and i on saturday, so its time to raise some quick money to replenish our savings account ...
lots and lots of rare stuff here. sunburned hand, mv/ee, radiohead, sonic youth, wolf eyes, vxpxc, acid mothers & lsd march related stuff. along with a bunch of personal art that has been in limited quantities for a while ...

Sorry to hear about the taxman - I've put a few things on watch in an effort to help.

Thank you, by the way, for timing your auctions so that they finish at a sensible time in both Europe and America. There's nothing more annoying than seeing an auction that is worth bidding on that finishes in the early hours of the European morning.

thanks man! but i can't take credit for the timing. you can blame another new england snow storm that had me in the house all day yesterday haha

I saw all this on ebay earlier and couldn't understand why they were being sold but now i know. I'm also watching many of yr items especialy the Sunburned stuff.

dnorsen 03.02.2009 08:23 PM

so hard to part with a lot of the stuff, but liberating at the same time as i have been threatening to go strictly vinyl for the better part of the year. a lot of that sunburned is really, really limited straight from the hands of the band in payment for art i did in the past. my loss is your gain!

dnorsen 03.08.2009 11:39 AM

bump - just a few short hours left!

the ikara cult 03.08.2009 11:50 AM

taxmans takin all my dough...

what prices are you asking for postage to the UK?

dnorsen 03.08.2009 02:12 PM

7 first disc, then everything added depending on weight since its all records and cds probably no more than 13-15.

dnorsen 03.08.2009 02:13 PM

i have to admit i didn't realize how much people wanted some of these pieces. i am getting offers for me to bootleg certain discs because they couldn't originally get them and they are afraid of losing the auction. its kind of shocking ...

viewtiful_alan 03.08.2009 04:04 PM

I'ma bid on yer pissed jeans 7 inch

viewtiful_alan 03.08.2009 04:19 PM

I also got the Wooden Shjips one.
Haha sorry for the low sum, I promsie my max bid was better!

dnorsen 03.08.2009 06:37 PM

no worries!! every little thing counts and they are 2 great 7 inches!!

viewtiful_alan 03.08.2009 07:19 PM

Haha well I'm glad I could be of some sort of help, and look forward to listening to them!

stu666 03.09.2009 05:22 AM

I bid on 10 of yr items but only won 1, the Michael Flower band s/t cd.

blunderbuss 03.09.2009 07:05 AM

^
I seriously considered bidding on that, but dozed off in front of the TV early yesterday evening and woke up after it had finished.

pokkeherrie 03.09.2009 07:45 AM

So that Live at the Eagle's Nest DVD is worth over $40 nowadays, eh? Hmmm.

dnorsen 03.09.2009 08:01 AM

yea i guess so! i bought it for 5 one of the first times i saw the band in 2004 ... its kind of weird how much some of the things went for. i didn't think they were that rare or in demand, but people were obviously looking for them ...

pokkeherrie 03.09.2009 08:27 AM

I also bought it for a fiver at one of their shows back then. It's alright, but I'd definitely sell it for $40.

eBay never ceases to amaze me. I was following a load of Birchville Cat Motel auctions last week, all by the same seller, all starting at $0.99.
In the end, none of them went under $20. This one even went for nearly $150!

i am starting to believe there is no recession between how much alot of these pieces went for and watching auctions in the last couple weeks. plus here in boston its still impossible to find somewhere to dine on a week night without a wait ... or people's priorities are just kind of whacked.

viewtiful_alan 03.09.2009 03:42 PM

The recession exists but I think is more psychological than anything. I mean if one company failed, but Americans didn't worry about it and just continued normal spending habits, things would probalby be a lot better off.
But the news industry which profits off of scaring the fuck out of you so that you can do nothing but watch their shows in order to know if you are safe, blows the whole thing up and makes it seem like we are in some economic holocaust.
Fuck the recession.
