"Sonic Youth are caught under the influence" Guardian article on The Eternal
Thank yee oh lord of the links.
Simon Reynolds writes well about other things, Sonic Youth is just not one of them. He stopped liking them just after Daydream Nation, which is a thing I always tend to find strange. Most of this article isn't even about The Eternal or Sonic Youth themselves.

cheers for da link. interesting review.
g, comments are pretty anti SY. |
The Guardian are pretty much against all my favourite bands. Though, strangely enough, when Alan McGee writes for them they suddenly seem strangely positive about most of them. Hmmmm....
"Have they manage to locate a tune yet?" - angry commenter.
Haha.
Hey look alva noto replied.
That was an informative read
Blah blah blah nostalgic shit for the first five paragraphs.
And the comments are a bunch of cack. Using Sonic Youth's artist homages as a means to dismiss the tunes themselves in order to hide their aging ears. Just like the British to construe authenticity with class expectations. |
I got too boring to read.

Have you really read the stuff that Alan McGee writes on The Guardian website? Thank God the've brought back Steven Wells. |

I have, what I read was largely him sucking off Bobby Gillespie. |
