I'm just discovering all hush and citrus albums now, and wondering what you think.

I think Citrus is a brilliant album. So many great, great songs.

I was disappoined by Hush. I actually heard the album live before it was released, at a quasi-release party gig in Leeds, where the songs had enough distortion and 'crunch' to balance the ethereal, soft parts - the former were lacking on the actual release, so it seems a bit meek. I do like it though now, it's just a bit too average shoegazer-ish when their unique sound of J-pop-rock (with a dreamy overtone) on Citrus was something special.

Citrus was close, if not, to being a perfect album.

Hush hasn't done much for me, other than Me & Mary. That song rocks. Other Hush songs translate well live, but something about how the album is produced leaves it feeling very lacking.

I came across the citrus now, and yeah you're right it's good. I like the sound, soft wall of sound sometimes, and the vocal. very dreamy.

Love the debut & Citrus, agree with everyone else about Hush. The acoustic album they were selling on their recent dates works better than you'd expect too.

i think vulva sent citrus to me a few years ago, and i remember liking it a lot. but its been a while since i heard them.

I've heard a few songs from Citrus and liked them a lot, I should check it out

I actually stumbled upon them from my pandora account when i made a shoegaze radio station. Reccomend an album?

Citrus is very very nice, go for it!
I like Hush too, though.

Hush is the biggest let down of the year. Everything I loved about Asobi Seksu isn't present on Hush. They should have turned up the guitars back to where they were and left it. None of this bullshit they're pulling now.

oh come on.. it's just more poppy itself, but still good songs. it's like rather ripped turn on something more light.

It doesn't sound like the same band to me. It's too much pop. It sounds so much like the YYYs second album and I'm not a fan of that either.

did you hear their third album it's blitz? you won't be happy for that. I'm not either. fever to tell was the best.

It's Blitz is much better than Show Your Bones, maybe the 4th album will get back to their roots some. Yeah, Fever To Tell/Machine/YYYs all own the newer stuff except Is Is.

Update: So I got Citrus and am playing it now and love it. It's like they came straight out of 1992 england, an instant classic. Has that perfect balance of blissful melody distortion and harmonies.
