What are some RPG's/games in general that make you smile/laugh

A lot of games are really just depressing as shit. I love the Mario RPG's and Earthbound because they make me happy. What are some other games that will make you happy when you're in a bad mood?

If we're talking RPGs specifically, 'Chronotrigger' and 'Secret of Mana.'

GeneticKiss 04.30.2009 12:02 AM

Pretty much all my Genesis games...

Zelda!

Eh. Thanks for the help but you guys seem to be answering based solely on nostalgia. I love Zelda too but it isn't really humorous? Nor is Chrono Trigger, I mean Chrono Trigger can get pretty depressing in places, like Lucca's mom.
Any other ideas?

Good call on Earthbound, that game is pretty feelgood. Except some of the Giygas stuff is pretty dark. This is kind of an irony, but Front Mission made me feel better about my dad, though that game was depressing as all hell. Oh, Tenchi Muyo RPG makes me feel pretty good, that game is alot of fun.

Most Square games from the early 90's and up, Earthbound, Wild Arms 1 + 2, Baldurs Gate 1 + 2, Planescape: Torment and so many more. Just thinking of these games takes me back to the good ol' days of when I'd come straight home from school and do nothing but stare into my tv or computer and play until bedtime. My life outside of video games was a fucking nightmare; escapism is a beautiful thing.

Oh, ermmm, disregard my last post. As for humorous rpg's besides Mario rpg or Earthbound, River City Ransom is pretty funny and rpg-ish.

hahaha. So Planescape: Torment is good? I've been wanting to play that one for a good while.

What Toilet and Bowels said. All 3 of those games.

Okami is pretty hilarious at times, also see almost every NiS game (Disgaea, Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom, etc).

There was a Czech adventure game from around 1993 called Teen Agent, which was really really funny. Great dialogues and shit.

never before and never after would I laugh that much while playing a video game.

I thought Banjo Kazooie was a funny game. Bottles the mole's voice is hilarious.
