I'm going on a job safari.

That's right, I'm printing out resumes, have the hair and make up done, put on the Chanel No. 5, and now I'm braving the stormy weather to hunt the great white job!

:)

You guys have a good morning. Happy Monday.

Rob Instigator 05.04.2009 09:56 AM

best of luck. job huntin's a bitch.

floatingslowly 05.04.2009 10:02 AM

I'm trying to keep my swine flu to myself, so my Monday involves a healthy dose of TV.

right now, it's Gangland on History. reminds me of home.

Please keep us informed. I want hourly updates.

NaiveMelody 05.04.2009 12:02 PM

Lol, well apparantly I'm slacking on my hourly updates. I just retuned home. I put in my resume and applications at several places, as well as picked up applications for different jobs. I would ideally like an office job, but realistically, that may take a while, so I am picking up apps for retail stuff and customer service too, as I just need to have A job for the moment. I can always comntinue to search for a better job while I am working.

EVOLghost 05.04.2009 12:12 PM

I have no job! :-D!!!! I was fire by the man taht has created me....

gmku 05.04.2009 12:12 PM

Your father fired you?! That is cold.

jon boy 05.04.2009 01:22 PM

good luck with the it. use the time you have off wisely, you will want more time off soon enough.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 05.04.2009 01:38 PM

I'm so tired of having time off. Job hunting every day is a bitch. Michigan blows especially hard in this department.

demonrail666 05.04.2009 02:30 PM

Job hunting should come with its own salary. It's a job in itself.

I totally agree!!!

gmku 05.04.2009 02:45 PM

It does. It's called unemployment benefits. God, you kids today expect the world handed to you on a silver platter, don't you!

I was one month short of qualifying for unemployment here in AL. Trust me, it was my plan to apply for it once I was fired.

demonrail666 05.04.2009 02:58 PM

unemployment benefit is there to keep you alive while you're not working. It doesn't take into consideration the time and energy it takes actually looking for a job in order to get off of it.

Not that I'm really advocating the idea that people get paid for being unemployed. Just saying that looking for a job is a job in itself.

blunderbuss 06.01.2009 01:33 AM

I've just been made redundant and have to find a new job. I had thought I was cool with the idea of having a little time off to enjoy the summer, but now that that time has come, I'm fucking terrified. I'm bloody good at the job that I do, but unless someone is looking for an applicant to do that job, I feel like I'm well and truely shafted.

that's the drawback of being a specialist of some sort.
anyways, I wish you the best of luck.
how is the situation in your region regarding the crisis nowadays? is the unemployment rising there as well as in the rest of Europe?
Because, over here, since September 2008, over 100.000 people lost their jobs (which is considerable, seeing that Slovakia has the population of 5 milion altogether).

blunderbuss 06.01.2009 04:59 AM

Yeah, the unemployment situation here is pretty crappy too. The number of people out of work in the UK rose 244,000 to 2.22 million in the first three months of 2009. Not encouraging for someone in my situation.

Keeping It Simple 06.01.2009 06:04 AM

Job hunting can be such a bore. The whole process is pantomimic as far as I'm concerned.

pbradley 06.01.2009 06:11 AM

I've spent a good year looking for a job now. I suck. So fuck it. A week from now, I'm going to drive across the United States. Live me some life.
