I've never listened to them.

They're okay. Not really my kinda music. I talked extensively online to a girl from Canada. We sent each other emails and stuff. We played music for each other sometimes over the phone and I managed to hear this band a lot. That's a whole other topic, that chick from Canada, but anyway.

They're not really something I'd feel the need to waste my time on, but they're pleasant and not offensively bad or anything.

Thei first Lp "La Maison de mes Reves" is pretty nice.
The rest is meh IMHO

Some of the worst music I have ever heard in my entire life. I was forced to sit through one of their performances a few years ago, and I was literally twitching with rage by the the time they were about halfway through their set. Unlistenable.

today, the elusive ms. sonicpark finds out about "that chick from Canada".

on topic: I wish I could play music that made people twitch with rage; alas, my talents lie in posting.

How come TG have released Negative Approach, Big Black, Killdozer, and then this?

Maybe because they're interested in releasing a variety of (relatively speaking) good bands and not just bands that fall under one category.

Actually... Taking a wild guess, but besides that YYY Ep they released, CocoRosie is probably their biggest selling act ever. So, maybe that's it.

This will also successfully piss off kids' parents. Especially if those parents grew up listening to Big Black.

I've only just now listened to a few tracks of CocoRosie. I have to say, the lot of you really need to get over your dislike of music that girls/ normal people might like. Obviously, they're achingly hip, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Remember, Sonic Youth were achingly hip for about ten cultural minutes.

Yeah, this band's really not that bad. Better than Animal Collective, for example.

I'm open-minded toward music that does not contain the World's Most Irritating Vocals as its focal point, with a lame ironic hip-hop number at the end of the set.

At least you actually listened to them.

A lot of people are quick to write off bands just because of their fanbase or their association with a particular scene or style or whatever.

Also, Green Magnesium, Joanna Newsom fucking rules!
