Best Easy Star All Stars Album
With the release of Sgt Pepper this summer, their third reggae interpretation of a classic rock record the band are gaining a steady following. Some might have been clued in earlywith dub side of the moon or radiodread but its got me thinking now........which of these albums does everyone regard as the best?
I have heard all 3 of their cover albums and I liked Sgt Pepper the best.Dub side was good but i felt it wasnt that hard to transform it to reggae and some songs just rambled too long. Radiodread was better with some imaginative re-inventions, (who thought "let down" could sound so carefree and cheerful? ) overall though i felt the record didnt work. The newest one Ive fallen in love with though, the dense production of "fixing a hole", the new trippiness of "lucy" and "within you". They make the weakest songs on the original album better aka "shes leaving home". It s a hard task to reinvent one of the most popular records ever but they make it sound fresh and new. Side Question: What album would you like to see them cover next? White Stripes- Elephant |
i would rather they do original material, i have the first easy star single and i like it better than all this new stuff

Didn't even know there was a Beatles one, I was thinking the other day they should do one with that exact title though, haha! Is it out already?

I haven't even heard their third album yet but I know it will for a fact be better than the album it's covering. Sgt Pepper's is an awful album so I'll be excited to hear what they'll do to it.

Radiodread!
I recently got the Sgt. Pepper one, but it doesn't move me like Radiodread does. also, it felt more like the artists made the songs their own versus simply covering them. |
They should make The Rise & Fall of Ziggy Stardub & The Rastas from Mars
