iTunes makes everything sound bad.

It's not like it takes decisions by itself on deleting files from hard drives...if you click randomly on every button that pops up something bad is bound to happen from time to time.

I'm always deleting and adding new stuff onto my media program. Never have more than a few gigs at a time.

Firstly, check to see if your files are ACTUALLY gone. Itunes/ItunesMusic/is there anything there? If there is, just reassociate your library with Itunes and you're A-OK.

Secondly, if there's nothing in that folder, depending on number of songs lost, in excess of 5,000, I recommend swift application of Drano to digestive system.
