Well, it was a hell of a surprise to meet Moshe at this shindig. Pity I got too drunk to stick around till the end of the afterparty. Anything cool happen?

i don't wanna


ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT. brynne is here and it's been a blast. it's like non stop slumber party girl talk. there has been a lot of excitement. i took brynne to the have the best mexican food of her life, and it blew her mind. actually we are going to go back today with john and nathan.
john and i got into a street fight the other night with some asshole tourists. i got punched in the face several times, but john and my friend joel ended up kicking his ass. yikes! at least i didn't get mugged, or worse. the left side of my head can't take any more trauma!
last night was really fun and great! there was a sonic youth listening party for their new album the eternal. it was so great to have so many of my favorite people in one place! we met up with kesin outside, and matt and i passed the time in line by quoting our favorite john waters movies. once we got inside it was a blast! free beer and pizza and sonic youth playing everywhere. somehow matt and i started talking about our favorite bourbons and then we all decided to take it there and did a round of shots.
we finally tracked down thurston outside and the party was on! i got asked to sing chuck d's part on kool thing with matt. i can never turn down an opportunity to be on stage.... but byrnne and i hadn't really eaten, so we rushed over to our favorite japanese restaurant and ate quickly so we could get back in time for me to "sing".

 

got back just in time, and thurston kicked me up onto the stage to do my part. i forgot half of what i was supposed to say, but i did say "word up" about five times. everyone was having so much fun!


we stayed super late and i was sad when everyone had to leave. but before we went back to brooklyn we made a quick stop to the cakeshop to say hi to jonas and jamin. their bands are on tour together right now. we all went back to brooklyn together and got some sandwiches. jake got one called lord of the rings. we are actually going to go see them play tonight. after we watch showgirls and drink some champagne of course. best friend spectacular continues!
