usb 2 devices will work on old usb ports apparently from what i have read on the web,
in fact i only have usb old and i have a desktop hard drive in a caddy that is usb2 and it works. i think it just can't pass data as quickly. |
^^correct.
|
not always though. I have a Sidekick Slide (USB2), and if I plug it into my USB1 port, it will keep connecting and disconnecting over and over again, rendering it useless. So be careful. But still I had a USB2 external HD that worked (SLOW but) flawlessly on a USB1 port.

I thought macbooks always got usb 2.0

i cant read muscial notation.

surprises me that this thread hasn't turned into a usb vs. firewire flamewar yet.
|
I have a macbook and never have used anything with firewire. All kinds of shrug at that "flamewar."
But USB 3.0 it's the future because it is a consecutively higher number |
