Thurston owns a club?
I'm pretty new to SY, as in, within the past couple days I got The Eternal. I asked my mom if she knew who SY was, and she said yeah, that this Thurston guy used to come in the store she worked at (A Blimpie sandwich shop) and she said that he owned a club, too. I can't find any info on this online, so I'm hoping that someone can clear this up for me.

Yeah, a live music sort of club. I don't believe that she didn't meet him, but she might've gotten her facts a little confused.
But hot damn, I just imagined that too, and I'm giggling to myself like a fool. |
Greg Dulli owns several clubs and is know to pour beer after LA shows with his various bands.

he should have bought the building where the cbgbs was in...

Maybe you got the story mixed up and he walked into your Mom's Blimpie's and ordered a turkey club. Possibly on rye toast w/ extra mayo.

Doesn't Steve Shelley own (or patially own) Maxwell's, in Hoboken, New Jersey? That's a cool rock music venue, bar and restaurant.

She doesn't mean he has some sort of club that meets at the shop..?

uh huh. Booker Todd Abramson, Steve Shelley and Dave Post of Swingadelic re-opened Maxwells on July 26th, 1998. |
