classic canadian hiphop days
i miss when there was actually all ages shows
i liked it when buck 65 used his real voice and didn't title his tracks,it was fun yelling for man overboard track 8 at shows it was great when moka only would release a collab with every rapper in canada and 10 solo albums a year and they were all great it was fun when josh martinez released multiple versions of every album and you had to trade with friends to get the tracks that weren't on your copy swollen members was actually awesome once it was awesome when nobody could afford to press real cds and you had to buy scratchy diy tapes and cdrs from peoples backpacks i loved it when hiphopinfinity.com gave canadian albums way higher ratings than american albums and the people on the forum would get pissed off and make threads about how halifax has no hardcore ghettos for rappers to be from it sucked when my punkrock friends didn't want to talk to me because they found out i bought a rap cd, but it's funny in hindsight it was really great when canadian rap was different (as in better) than american |

Could you be a doll and make a mixtape? Or a mp3 mix, more accurately. There was a thread for that sort of thing a while ago, it'd be nice to have a primer on that sort of shit. Ta. |
