Antony Gormley's "One and Other"

Art? Or arse?

demonrail666 07.06.2009 04:33 PM

art, but not very interesting art.

Seandi 07.06.2009 06:36 PM

"art"

Glice 07.07.2009 10:31 AM

I'm actually taking part in something for it next Monday. If anyone is about at around 1100 (AM) on Monday, nip down to trafalgar square and check out some shit.

blunderbuss 07.07.2009 11:47 AM

On the plinth? Or some sort of guerilla action?

And if it's on the plinth, is it in the 11-12 slot?

Glice 07.07.2009 12:16 PM

12-1300 it is now I check the time.

There's going to be a conductor on the plinth and I'll be underneath being conducted. Others will be there too, hopefully. If you're interested in taking part, and have an instrument (no electricity) you can bring along, PM me.

blunderbuss 07.07.2009 05:11 PM

I have a tambourine, but my playing is of the "lead singer's girlfriend" variety.

I work about three minutes walk from the plinth, though, so I shall come and mingle with the tourists during my lunch hour.

EDIT -
Is the whole "One and Other" project being filmed? The idea of there being a permanent record of it appeals to me, for some reason. As long as it's a continuous thing, not something that you can dip in and out of, and just watch your favourite bits.

Glice 07.07.2009 05:20 PM

Yeah, please do. I'll figure out some sort of signal (possibly a hat that says 'ping'), come and say hello.

deadrockstar 07.08.2009 03:41 AM

I've seen a few of his exhibitions and they're all the bloody same. You can only see a room full of 200 figures so many times before it becomes boring, no matter which alloy he has chosen this time. I imagine his stuff appeals greatly to welders.

Still expecting him to jump on the plinth with a blow torch at some point. I'd be scared if I were a participant...

MellySingsDoom 07.08.2009 04:44 AM

I'll try to remember to come see Glice and the other next Monday lunchtime. It's all about free art & music, innit?

Glice 07.10.2009 12:01 PM

Right, I'm going to a festival this weekend - I'm performing in an orchestra underneath the plinth on Monday, 12noon. Come down and watch, y'fuckers (or it'll be on the line - http://www.oneandother.co.uk/ 1200 BST)

sarramkrop 07.10.2009 01:26 PM

see you next tuesday

MellySingsDoom 07.10.2009 01:32 PM

Um, it looks like I won't be able to make it along for your thing now after all (due to a hospital appointment). Damn and blast. Sorry Herr Glice :(

Right then, let's go and see what Glice and chums are up to...

Glice 07.14.2009 11:11 AM

Broken down van, didn't make it in time. Did, however, get hideously wrecked, as only yokels in the big city can. From what I've seen, Lawrence did a good job of it anyway.

demonrail666 07.14.2009 12:45 PM

I thought this was all taking place next week? Fuck me I'm as useless as a chocolate spanner. I really am.

Which explains why I didn't spot you among the fiddlers.
