Aaargh!
|
I'm quite torn about this. On the one hand, it'd be interesting to see what 'that boy' will do with this orchestra. On the other hand, I quite strongly dislike more than one band on the bill.
|
I might well be tempted to go down to this, if nothing else to put my London feet in Glice's home turf. Ya check me, Bristol blud?
|
Man dem a welcam round man like Glice towr any time bredin'. Check dem a shoe a dem door an naa be fassi.
|
Easy for you to say that, you're on the bill. I'm going to have to pay £15 for the privelege, plus £rape for drinks.
|
Statistically speaking, the proportion of 'people in cbp' to 'musicians in Bristol' is so close that I might, on average, be a member of them.
Drink! Yes. You going to 'that boy's' deely on the 18th? I'm doing strings again. |
Well, I can't say I'm not tempted, but I keep on seeing that twentyonepoundsandseventyfivepenceincludingbooking feeandpostage price tag and my finger moves away from the "yes I'd like a ticket" button.
Just how special are these special international guests? Special enough that I should mortgage my next door neighbours cat to get a ticket to see them? Can I have your fifteen quid ticket if you don't want it, Glice? EDIT - The special guests aren't bloody SunnO))))))))))))), are they? I'm sick and bloody tired of SunnO)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) |
I think the special international guests are ZU...
and they're worth money live. |

Fuckin' 'ell! I didn't realise it was £20 now. Sack o' AIDS. You can't have my £15 ticket as I don't have one, but you're more than welcome to kip on my sofa. It wouldn't surprise me if Sunn weren't the guests. Fat Paul has a massive O'Malleyrection. |
This should be good. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.
And the trip to Bristol in general which is usually worthwhile...in record shopping terms if nothing else. |
hey iain!
how's your mug? |
p.s. ZU ZU ZU ZU ZU ZU ZU ZU ZU ZU ZU ZU ZU ZU!

You might want to PM me if you want a heads up on record stores - there's a lot have closed down in the last while. If nothing else, you should check out Cherry Picked records on Stokes Croft in the Croft, which is new-ish and is probably up your alley. |
Aye, I've kept fairly up to date on the status of Bristol record shops...I think. I've been to Cherry Picked but I always forget about it...I usually concentrate on Plastic Wax, I usually come out with a bunch of stuff there. There's a new one in the market called Wanted which is really good. Fair bit of jazz and a small but decent avant garde section.

Very well thank you. I just don't seem to find the time to post here anymore.... |
Yes, this was indeed a good night.
Highlights were Though Forms, Zu, Team Brick and what I saw of Gonga. I left about halfway through to go downstairs to watch Fuck Buttons who were pretty dissapointing. I'm not a massive fan of theirs but they don't usually leave me as utterly bored as they did on Saturday. Not really into the new stuff at all I don't think. Two thumbs up to everyone involved in organising as everything went swimmingly and pretty much band on time. Good work. |
