Sonic Youth – iTunes Live from SoHo
Sonic Youth – “What We Know” live from the Apple Store SoHo
July 31st, 2009 at 9:56 am by Gabe On June 9, Matador Records had the pleasure of releasing an album entitled “The Eternal” by a band called Sonic Youth. To celebrate the album’s release, Sonic Youth performed in a retail store owned by a company called Apple. As it happens, you can buy “The Eternal” from Apple, or from us. The band brought genius to the Genius Bar that day, and here’s a video clip to prove it. iTunes also recorded the performance and will release “Sonic Youth – iTunes Live from SoHo” on 9/15. |
Is there something horribly wrong with that vid, or is it just a crap download speed provided by my IP?
It stops, it speeds up, it pixellates, and it gives no sound. And that's just the beginning... :( |
It works fine for me. Great video, thanks!
Yes, works nicely here too!
Perhaps you have some programs running in the background (other downloads n' stuff) slowing things down, bbbbus? You could try pausing it and letting the thing load in your browser cache, you should be able to watch it with no hiccups then. So happy they "chose" What We Know. |
No.. still not working for me.
I wish I could show you psychedelic the vid is with all these glitches. |
Weird, perhaps your quicktime version/plugin for the browser isn't much up to date? I'll try to help you in other ways asap...
Sometimes videos that doesn't work very well play a lot better when I try a different web browser. Don't know why it's like that, but if you have another browser installed you could always try that one.
thanks!

yr luck to get a picture, i just get the sound breaking up :( can someone rip and share? |
uh, I tried to "rip it" but looks like it's a "protected" stream...
I don't even see a video, it's just a blank space.
looks like a uk problem then
i get a blank space too
yeah, it looks like a protected stream. i mean, it asking me to pay and uprgrade quicktime player. any free software I can capture stream other way?
I have the pro version of quicktime but it asks me for userid+password to access the server where the actual stream is hosted...usual software I use to capture streams won't work either, a solution could be one of those things that can save portions of the screen as videos along with the audio from the speakers (you'd have to "select" the correct portion of the screen and don't click around in order not to "ruin" the audio recording with sound effects etc etc)...I never used those, though, so I have no clue/suggestions.....
not working for me too...
Now it doesn't work for me. Wtf.
Thanks for the head's up! I tunes makes alot of money off of me.
And now the post has disappeared altogether from the Matablog.
I suspect that Matador may be evil. |
