|
A.K.A. "Give us more money on a band that we treated like shit and only paid attention when they got big!" Yes?
|
Good deal.

Why give them money you can give to the little guy? http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?master_id=13773&ev=mb |
Remastering the record would ruin any charm the album originally had, so there goes that.
The only interesting thing they could have included would have been the early demos or live performances while the songs were in working phases, so that's out too. The live set might be good, as during 1990 they really started to get their stuff down, but this is such a cash grab attempt yet again from Sub Pop. The album doesn't need to be remastered or re-issued; The original works fine enough, and Nirvana shows are extremely easy to find. I still don't see where so many get this genius aura from Bleach... I think it's just your typical Sub Pop grunge rock from the time period, that many bands were doing better and many bands would do better. ~Jeremy~ |
i wont get it. well maybe in a few years oe something.

See, I've always thought that Bleach sounded like a pile of shite. I'm not sure if a re-mastering will fix that, but it's definitely worth a bash. I know a lot of people like that record for its sound, and I'm sure Subpop'll be very heavily scrutinised when it comes out (so a proper tidy up is unlikely), but production-wise the record is definitely a 'could do better'. Obviously, I'll edit this post if someone like Terminal Pharmacy turns up and says 'you're talking complete bollocks, prick'. |

Because I'm a sucker and I enjoy the majority of Sup Pop's output. |

That cheaper-than-shit awful production is what I love about Bleach. If Albini had recorded In Utero in a similar way, that shit would have been glorious. Some music benefits from the sound of a drycleaner. I'm talking complete bollocks. |
in utero on CS or vinyl = one of the best production jobs ever
in utero on cd = crap |
even recording a fucking mp3 of in utero onto a CS is better than the cd version
|
Can they make it triple sided?
|
You have a triangular record player, do you?
|
Although I like this album, I'm not very interrested in this reissue... The live bonus CD might be good but I wait to see the remastered tracks before I buy it.

Didn't realize it had never been un-released. I've seen this new in CD and record bins for years and years. |
right to be fair - bleach's production could concievably be made better, but i don't really care enough to see this happen - the original endino production is cool. I'm surprised sub pop didnt do this sooner, ive been expecting it for years now.
As for the live show - this is cool but there are still a load of unreleased tracks from the bleach era that should also be included - chad channing version of hairspray queen - potentially more 4 track stuff and rehearsal stuff. There is a radio show from 87 - one or 2 tracks are on the boxset - i have the rest on a cdr somewhere, it's cool. There's also that DVDR show in a record store with Jason Everman. There's fecal matter and some other cool shows from this era. There's also a compilation that some of the LiveNirvana guys made, I can't remember what its called but it basically has all the unreleased stuff that wasn't on the box set. Someone, maybe me if i can be bothered i'll make a thread on LN about it - should make a companion Bleach era torrent of FLAC files of all the good stuff from the Bleach era - best songs from all the surfaced recordings and all the stuff I already mentioned - then compile a fan booklet to accompany it - pdf file of photos/interviews/fanzine shit - all the stuff the fans have aqquired over the years and put online - just wrap it all up. I started trying to do a project like this for the In Utero era of the band aswell, made a load of artwork and started to compile compilations of the best live stuff but never finished it. |
One rarity I was hoping would be on the reissue: Their track from a kiss cover album. Only track with Jason Everman.
In any case, I'll be preordering the vinyl, that first run white pressing gets at the colelctor in me. Plus I'm a nirvana fanatic. |
ah yes do you love me?
the worst/best nirvana track ever |
