Sacred Trickster is...
a really catchy song, I can't get it out of my head!!! It's been ringing in my head for dayz
I wish that music video did not ruin my once excellent connotations of that song.
I kinda like the video myself. I haven't seen it in awhile, but there were some memorable moments like Mark Ibold reading a Chinese newspaper, and of course the "bomb" at the end.
Are you in Baltimore? Going to the High Zero Fest by any chance? |
fun song, catchy fo sho. i made a tanktop the other nite that says 'sacred trickster' across the front. i can not wait to see them perform (the whole album) but this song esp live.
it'z propulsive. great kim vox. terrific album opener. i wanna see that t-shirt!
I also want to be on that tree...

Yes, I do currently live in Baltimore. And I am pretty sure that I'll be going to at least some of the High Zero Festival. Will you? |
love that fucking song. great album starter.
love how it ends quick, like dinosaur jr's cover of Just Like Heaven |
Quote:
yes re: the end. i only had dinos just like heaven ripped from soulseek and burned to cdr for a long time and i remember thnkn i didn't have the whole song, thought it cut off at end; until i saw them perform it live and end it in the same sick way. luv it. |
it's a good trick!
< -- I too used to assume that there was a problem with the end of my record.
Then I figured out that Dinosaur Jr. is just kick ass! |
I love the song; I just wish it was a little bit longer.
definitely one of their daydream nation-inspired songs
Re: yeah I'm going to try to make it to some of high zero if I can get housing situated. there is also another fest happening at the end of Sept in D.C, appropriately titled Sonic Circuits or something that looks pretty cool that I might go to instead tho
....a cracking little intro to a great album. It kinda rocks, much like the album itself. Great work Yonic South!
way too short.
I actually think it would have been cool if Kim started singing at 0:13 and the track was only like 1:41. To have a proper song be that short and that rocking, it would be crazy. And then, could it contend for the shortest single ever? They actually do put a radio edit on it... well from what I heard. Last time I heard it on the radio, they cut the first 13 seconds.
It's a fun, catchy song. I like it. But really it's probably one of the weaker tracks on the new album, but I love all the songs on the new album.
A damn fine first single. Lets you know things are going to get energetic fast. And Kim's smartass vocals are spot on.
