I know it seems like old news, but when I heard about it I was like "man! that sucks!" because I was just starting to get really into Swell Maps. I think they were a truly kick-ass group. *sigh*

This is sad news... and a little freaky, I just got back home from visiting my mum in the north of the country where I salvaged a few of my old vinyl Lp's from the attic... and one of them was "A Trip To Marineville"!

It says on his site at nikkisudden.com that he was found dead at a table were he'd sat down to read after his last show. Autopsy revealed a slightly enlarged heart. Swell Maps have always been a great inspiration to me. RIP Nikki

I had a friend who died suddenly who also had an enlarged heart.
Thanks for sharing this; I hadn't heard anything as to the cause until now. |

I was listening to 'Chelsea Embankement' and i was wondering if anyone had posted about the death of Nikki Sudden and found this.It felt sad at the time and it still does.
