[East Jesus|Dirty Windows]
so which one is it that dilates your pupils and makes you feel all warm inside?
for me its dirty windows. |
Eh? Are these strands of weed?
Quote:
rather strands of lee ranaldo's spoken word w/ his guitar soundscapes. hard to choose, dirty windows is a more cohesive work, east jesus is a compiling of misc. pieces over several years... hard to say, probably dirty windows. |
other: "scriptures of the golden eternity" and "music for stage and screen"
It's an other for me namely... Outside My Window The City Is Never Silent: A Bestiary...
I like Amarillo Ramp the best.
im sayin all of the above ++ ....
each is better at different times .... |
the only lee ranaldo spoken word stuff i've heard is "envisioning" with william hooker, but that one definitely deserves a vote.
All of Lee's recordings are objects of joy and wonder. Asking for a favourite among them is like asking a mother to choose her favourite child.
east jesus is fantastic, very beat inspired particularly the brooklyn bridge section at the start
east jesus shades it for me musically but the stories on dirty windows are better. verdict- east jesus!
I like cake.
other amarillo ramp or scriptures.........
both are favorites of mine......
i have honestly listened to "dirty windows" over 300 times. no exagerating.....there was a while there where i was listening to it like every day because i connected with his writing style and music arrangements/jams so much. if you like dirty windows...check his book "lengths and breaths" you can get it from amazon.com for like 18 bucks and you can read it next week :) |
