Chopped and Screwed
Lorazepam and codeine buzzies make me enjoy chopped and screwed a lot.
|
I tried a load of this stuff a while ago. I couldn't get into it. Has it changed much in the last 2 years?
EDIT: the music, not the drugs. |
i love it, the paul wall album is cool chopped and screwed, internet going nuts is so funny like that.
i haven't really listened to it for years, but it was non stop when the doctor was stupid enough to prescribe suuuurp to a rap fan(me) |

it's basically all the same so if you didn't like it before you probably won't now |
this is the only chopped and screwed song that's really done it for me, it's pretty nuts

I really really like the bonus disc from Lil Wayne's CARTER 2. It's basically a greatest hits chopped n screwed by Michael 5000 Watts. Fucking great.
I used to hate chopped n screwed music, but one day it just sort of made sense. I tend to listen to it on rainy days. |
love screw

DJ screw's music is incredible. That said, I tend to prefer the music the way it was recorded. Most of the time the 'chopping' half of the equation is done crappily and just sounds annoying. In my mind just slowing down a song takes alot of the individual touches or flourishes a rapper like Lil Wayne or Andre 3000 can offer, and makes them all sound similar. Different approaches for different kind of music.
And yes, DJ screw was pretty much my favorite back when I was a codine user. |
yes just slowing it down is boring. But some do a lot more interesting things. Like Screw as you pointed out. Or Michael 5000 Watts like a mentioned. He uses a lot of effects and then repeats sections or words etc to really remix the track altogether.
I've always wondered how those F-Action tapes are that Swishahouse puts out. Yknow the R&B Choppnscrewed albums? |

sadly I dont have the Chopped & Screwed of Carter I or II. I want them both though. |
I have a chopped & screwed The Chronic. Fucking great with the high synths in the back, which still quite high pitch when slowed down.
Then Snoop coming in at the Chronic intro and at first you're thinking it's somehow Dre from the deep voice, but then when Dre's voice comes in, it's super deep and snoop just sounds normal compared to him. Would be great to listen to it on codeine sometime. Used to rank for the number 1 spot in google for "DJ screw poster" from a faux tribute poster I made in college. |
who chopped up The Chronic? I didn't know there was one. Is it an official release, or...?

I'll upload the Carter II chopped official release in a few minutes. |
