Major (UK) sonic boardie help needed to get to ATP!
As pasted from the ATP thread:
"Oh motherfucking shit shit BALLS!!! 3 of us had been going to go to together, and one friend had come to stay with me in York the night before, then the other was picking us up on the way down the country in her car and we were sharing the driving. Or that was the plan. But now, it seems, HER CAR HAS BEEN SEIZED BECAUSE SHE FAILED TO MAKE THE PAYMENTS ON IT. This is a NIGHTMARE. She's not going now, but the rail costs this last minute are going to utterly rape me and my friends in the ass! I don't suppose that anyone is heading down via Yorkshire and have two spaces for hitchers? (we would of course pay our share of petrol plus more to show our supreme gratitude)" I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER! |
sorry mate i wish i could help.
what about national express? or you could megabus it to london for a couple of quid - it'd be much easier to get a lift from there. i'd offer myself but the car is already full. good luck i hope you make it! |
No problem. Train is £108, which is not the END of the world, but not desirable either. At least it's direct though.

I can't help, but if you get single tickets to each train stop it'll work out a lot cheaper. That is, if it's going London-Taunton via Swindon and Bristol, get singles from London-Swindon, Swindon-Bristol, Bristol-Taunton. It's a bit of a pain to negotiate, but it always works out cheaper (I've found).
There's also getting the cheapest single and hiding in the toilet the whole journey, or at least for a while. |
yoir from york earl of slander? i am from the very same city.

I'm a University of York fresher (originally from Newcastle), and the other guy with me is a friend from back home. We are cool and totally not in any way murderers, if there's a chance of a lift? Or was it just a generally a non-ATP relating question? If so, cool man! Next time I'm heading to a gig in the area I'll give you a bell. |

Well, just bought train tickets. Managed to get the whole journey in at like £80 per person, so not TOO awful.
