patti smith in godard?
|
|
This is supposedly his last film. He's been making films for 50 fucking years. Unbelievable.
I've heard that this is solely a Godard film, then I've heard that it's multiple directors (like the imdb has listed now). I don't think anyone knows for sure what is going on. |
I adore Godard. And it is frustrating trying to get info on Socialisme. I think the "last film" thing is just rumour. I've seen no credible sources for this. I believe it is just conjecture, because he is pushing 80, or whatever. We'll see.

I just got EVERYTHING IS CINEMA. SO good.

I did 2 Or 3 Things I Know About Her last night. Holy fuck....hahaha.....like most first viewings of Godard, I don't try too hard....I let it wash over me, and carry me. Cus this one was especially dense. I know I'm going to really enjoy subsequent viewings.
I also recently viewed Made In The USA (a supposed little sister to 2 Or 3 Things?) I think Made stands up very well, certainly not "minor Godard". But I need a lot more time with these muthafuckers. |
Nah, it's definitely his last I think, he is selling all his equipment, everything he used to make movies with.
Anyway... LALANNE: Why did you invite Alain Badiou and Patti Smith to be in your latest film, but ended up filming them so little? GODARD: Patti Smith was there, so I filmed her. I don't see why I should have filmed her for any length of time greater than I would, say, a waitress. LALANNE: Why did you ask her to be involved? GODARD: So that there would be one good American. Someone who embodies something other than imperialism. |
And Badiou was there to be a boring Marxist contemporary.
