Sonic Youth 2016

THe latest in my Threads-about-Sonic-Youth-To-Try-And-Justify-My-Continued-Presence-On-The
-Sonic-Youth-Forum Series
is this rather sad attempt at credibility. Yawn. So...

Which of the above options comes closest to describing what you think Sonic Youth will be up to in 10 years time? I'm taking a guess that the members will still be performing together, but doing things more in the SYR experimantal/improvised mould. Dunno why though. Hmmm.

Thanks for taking part in my poll - it really is absolutely lovely of you - but please, tell us your choice too. You may wish to elaborate and give your reasons for choosing the option you did, or you may like to tell a joke about porcupines, or give us a recipe for fruit scones. Do what you like, really, I'm not that bothered. Not that you need my permission anyway.

Love.

I think something similar to the lines you're on, more syr mostly because they won't be on geffen anymore so just be using their own resources and they'll all be pushing 60 or older (kim) so performances will be fewer but by god, still as great even if kim needs a walker.

I voted the last option. Not because they won't be doing the above answers but because they will be doing them all. I'm sure they will do things together, and seperately, and pursue musical things and non musical things. They won't be doing just one thing.

Yeah, what AT said.

Hip Priest 07.04.2006 03:40 PM

According to the forum listing, this poll has had three replies, four views, but seven votes have been cast. How can this be?

Alex's Trip: cool answer.

Glice 07.04.2006 03:43 PM

I voted, but I don't really have an opinion. I just want to encourage further Hip Priest polls.

Aw, that's so nice. I'm running out of ideas though, as you can tell.

It's now six replies, seven views and ten votes.

I think they'll be playing music, but probably not as Sonic Youth. It feels like they're kind of winding down. Not in a bad way, I think it'll all be on good terms and on a good note and stuff, but I don't see them being Sonic Youth in their 60's.

Unmade Bed 07.04.2006 04:06 PM

hahaha nice poll

Alex's Trip 07.04.2006 04:11 PM

It jumped up to 53 views...

Hip Priest 07.04.2006 05:24 PM

Mmmm, it seems to have sorted things out. This always happens in the early minutes of a poll.

I see some (choosing to remain anonymous) thinks they'll wind up playing Vegas. The cheeky scamp!

acousticrock87 07.04.2006 05:26 PM

The board is probably still recovering from being graced by Lee's presence.

Hip Priest 07.04.2006 05:32 PM

Oh, was Lee here? I was given no advance notification of this. What happened?

Pookie 07.04.2006 05:34 PM

I voted be pursuing other musical projects seperately simply because the individual member's own projects seem to be more passionate & convincing if you know what I mean.

But I suppose it will be a mixture of a few answers really.

I'm sure SY will be glad to hear we're wishing their lives away!

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 07.04.2006 05:51 PM

They'll be dead

Hip Priest 07.04.2006 05:53 PM

Is that a prophecy, or a threat?
