They did a brief reunion tour last year as well.

Doom legends or not, I saw part of their set at Roadburn then and thought they were pretty embarassing... well, mainly the drummer. It was probably the most sloppiest drumming I've ever witnessed by someone in a professional band... Heh, I think after Roadburn they played 3-4 other shows in Europe and they fired their drummer halfway through that tour.

Shitty venue to play here in Vienna, overpriced most of the times.
I might still consider to go.

I'm going to see them tonight, I'm a bit of a fan of Wino's various bands, and because he's never fallen off I'm surprised you said the reunion at roadburn was bad.

I really like a lot of Wino's recent bands - Hidden Hand, Spirit Caravan - but I never cared for the version of St Vitus with him singing, the original St Vitus were awesome.

Well some people thought it was the greatest thing ever, I remember hearing/reading very mixed reviews of that show. I didn't like it, but then I never really liked the couple of Vitus albums I've heard either. I'm definitely not going to their Rotterdam gig, but I'll check out Wino playing with Shrinebuilder at this year's Roadburn.

(from pretty much all the other bands you can listen to their full sets, surely it's no coincidence that Vitus didn't give permission to put the whole show, including painstakingly bad drum solo online)

I really enjoyed it, Wino is a great front man, and Dave Chandler is an excellent guitarist
