okay well, I posted this in the AC thread, but it's relevent, so...

these are the worst fucking threads on this board. And I mean it. They're counter-intuitive to who we are as a forum. We used to be board that was open-minded and shared things. So why would we want to be a bunch of fucking snarky elistist douchebags that draw lines in the sands of what is cool and what bands the rest of us should be embarrassed to listen to? Unless y'all are planning to send yr resumes to Pitchfork, I suggest we bury these fucking Let's Massacre A Band threads and pretend they never happened. Who's with me?

I think it was just for fun. sure, some people take it seriously, but I took it as a lighthearted attempt to parody music geek's tendency to rip things to shreds.

^^ exactly, these "hate" threads are just other ways to talk about music. Nobody is personally attacked, here. People who even like these bands can use the opportunity to say what they DONT like, so that not every conversation has to be about glowing adoration. Like, exploration, you know? Remember that night you made out with that guy? Like that.

It's just plain fun to wreck on a band that usually gets a lot of attention. Sometimes that attention just doesnt seem warranted. DISCUSSION ?

Shrug. I've been with this board for as long as anyone so I know firsthand that it goes through phases of pure... boringness.

adam it's not the boring-ness that bothers me. It's the prickery. There's a handful that seem to thrive on it (GHOSTBUSTERS 2 PINK SHIT) and I think it's stupid.
