question for people in the uk

I know this will seem random but when your walking in a crowded hall, like at school,do you walk on the left side?

Glice 03.29.2010 04:37 AM

We tend to have our butlers do all our walking for us. It's most unbecoming to be caught walking in public. Walking is for plebs and ne'er-do-wells.

Hate posting a dailymail article but this seems relevant.

Find any family resemblance amongst the lot?

In what way is that article relevant to the question of whether you walk on the left side in a school hall?

I work in a college and I can tell you that the students weave down the hall barely managing to avoid walking into the walls.

there's this rule tho, of being on the right side when on escalators
i thought it was silly at first, but people do take it seriously

i still wonder tho
if you wanna walk
why not just go up the regular stairs

That's just the underground. And that rule only exists so that people can tut when the rule is broken.

I follow it everywhere now, everywhere. (traumatized)

It's quite easy to spot a Guardian reader, as they always keep to the far left. If you forced them to walk bare foot on a pavement, and the far left of it was covered in broken glass, they'd still walk it. They're that blinded.

Yes we have to walk to the left in our school.

one of life's great mysteries: how anyone stupid enough to agree with the daily mail actually has the brain function to be able to read the damn thing

It isn't, directly. It was a reply to Glice's comment about ne'er-do-wells.

To the question - no, we walk where walking makes itself available

Rob Instigator 03.29.2010 05:15 PM

I recognise that face and that is not the UK.

Keeping It Simple 03.30.2010 07:20 AM

Agreed. It's like that old joke. What do you call an attractive woman in the UK? A foreign tourist.

i haven't been seen in public since the late 90's. too many ruffians and scoundrels about from the whispers in the village.

chicka 03.31.2010 11:39 AM

Judging by the height of the men it would appear that the Napoleon complex
in drunks held back then as it does these days, is that the relevance you're referring to?
