Remember when they were 16?

Yeah, I think you remember. Watch/listen to video 16 and 18. Then discuss.
I think they are one artistically underrated band.

do you remember when they were heavey?
no but I like them still. They have some talent, though the singer looks a lot different.
tough maybe?

Norma J 07.08.2006 08:42 PM

Yeah, they used to be relatively heavy, Helmet-esque. But that was a few albums and years ago. HAHA, he has changed alot, he's not the skinny, long blonde haired, kid, anymore.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 07.08.2006 08:46 PM

Do you plan on picking up the album when it's released?

kingcoffee 07.08.2006 08:48 PM

I miss the long hair, man! What the hell happened to Daniel? He looks all slick now.

kingcoffee 07.08.2006 08:51 PM

But seriously, when I was between 12 and 16, Silverchair were one of my favorite bands. I didn't like how they caught a lot of sit for "being Pearl Jam ripoffs". I thought that was a bunch of crap. They had their own sound. Grunge had it's own sound, and practically everyone who fit into grunge sounded basically the same in one way or another. Silverchair were just kids, too. They were still i fucking high school when they made Frogstomp. That's pretty goddamn good for kids who were just getting their drivers liscences and couldn't vote. Give credit where credit is due.

Definitely. From the stuff I've heard so far, it's sounding pretty cool. Alot more fun than previous albums.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 07.08.2006 08:54 PM

Yeah, I prob. get it as well, depending on what I see on the shelves.

This is his other band.

kingcoffee 07.08.2006 09:10 PM

Looking at their rehearsal stuff, I think the album will be even better than Diorama. I want the heavier sound back in their music. I liked the space-pop direction they took on Diorama, but I want to hear some heavier stuff too.

For sure. But since them days, musically, they've improved greatly and have got their own sound... although that sound changes each album.

kingcoffee 07.08.2006 09:13 PM

True. Just remiscing, is all.

I could still kick his ass!
I think the change is good though.

Norma J 07.08.2006 09:25 PM

HAHA.

Change is good.

Did you guys check out that Dissociatives link?

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 07.08.2006 09:42 PM

its sounds a bit like diorama. Its good, but the video is quite wierd[in a good way].

Norma J 07.08.2006 09:46 PM

Abit more pop than Diorama, but just as experimental, yeah. Them two guys did that whole album in 7 days or something, wrote and recorded. It's a really cool album. HAHA it is a weird clip - they did that whole album with that concept - every clip and artwork, even in magazines etc. Pretty cool way to not have to do numerous photoshoots haha.

7? wow. Sounds pretty great quality wise.

Norma J 07.08.2006 09:49 PM

They both have pretty good recording equipment. They did it all in Daniels London home, I think. Then got it mastered somewhere else.
