Question about Sonic Youth.
 

I know Thurston, Lee, Kim, and Steve are American. Does anyone know their ethnic background? I think Moore is English and the rest of the band might have heritage elsewhere.
Someone please post this if they know. Is Ranaldo a German name?

Lee's family is from Italia, i think. Not that this really matters.

good question. I never knew, but figured thurston kim and steve to be Anglo and Lee to have some Latin background

Lee is at least partially Italian-American. I believe Thurston has some Irish in his background.

Anyone a fan of the O (now known as gonna get got)? They sampled Sonic Youth in one of their songs (they're a rap group btw).
