Funny the last joke I heard him tell was this:

He made Comedy Central's insipid roasts occasionally tolerable.

And when he and Kindler judged Last Comic Standing, it felt like less a sell out than an attempt to bring some talent to the show.

On September 25, 2010, Giraldo overdosed on prescription medication. After he failed to appear for a scheduled performance, he was found in his New Jersey hotel room and rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He died as a result of complications from the overdose four days later on September 29, with his family by his side.

Dammit. It felt like a prescription drugs kind of death to me. That sucks.
