Mix Tapes Track Listing

Should we include a track listing for the Mix Tapes swap?

HaydenAsche 07.23.2006 06:35 PM

I am going to list the tracks in alphabetical order. They aren't on the tape that way.

Hip Priest 07.23.2006 06:36 PM

Not knowing can be part of the fun.

The maker of the tape could post the track listing after the tape has been reviewed.

Ooh, you devil. That could be fun or VERY frustrating.

That's the fun! If someone likes a song they have to kind of figure out who does it.

I'm not part of the swap thing but when people make me cd's and tapes I like to know what songs are on it.

I'm not apart of it either, but if I were to make a tape for you guy's, I wouldn't accompany the names of the bands. Just say, for example, if you didn't like Sonic Youth, the person listening, may completely ignore that track. When in fact they may have loved that particular song if they gave it a chance.

what is this mix tape nonsense you speak of? hit me up.

golden child 07.24.2006 02:41 AM

The deadline is July 28th to have your tape sent. So you have to let me know by Friday that you've sent your tape.

I'm then on holiday for a week, which should give time for most to arrive with me & I can start sending them out. Please register your interest by pm'ing me ASAP so I can give you my postal address & details of what to include.

By recent expeience:

England to Canada (and vice versa) takes 3 - 4 weeks
England to Australia takes 10 days
England to the US takes 10 days
England to Mexico takes a week to ten days.

I like having track listings. I can ignore them if I want to be surprised, but if I hear something I'm not familiar with and really like it, I like knowing how I can track down more of the same.

Is this stuff sent to you from these places? US/Canada shouldn't take longer than 5 days by Airmail (the last parcel I sent to the US took 4 days), the rest sounds pretty much the same as my experience. The 3-4 weeks to Canada you quote sounds like surface mail to me?

As far as track listing is concerned, the answer was always going to be to do whatever you feel like. There are no rules in tape club!

I'm normally a fan of track listings, but it occurs to me that Dr Priest has once again usurped sense with betterness.
