I used to have this CD buy this guy who did all his music by tape manipulation. Like he would record one thing, like a violin for ex., and then make a bunch of tapes of it, then just go nuts with those tapes. Anybody have even a clue who I'm talking about?

yeah, I go back and forth on Zappa. I always think I like him, but then I hear his stuff, and I'm just not a huge fan. I guess I just liked this idea of what he was doing, regardless of whether or not he pulled it off to my liking...

For the record I was being a smartass the first time around.

Like I said, I go back and forth. If somebody asks, I usually say I like him, just because he's categorized in my mind as good stuff. But when I go to listen to it, it's not like I hate it, it's just more like, "eh...". So there you go, smartass :)

There is this indie music store in Lexington, KY called Cd Central; great store, you can find ANYTHING there, and if for some reason it's not there, you can order it through them. Anyways, they have a huge Zappa collection, and the guy who runs it looks a LOT like Zappa. Now, it may just be that he looks like him on purpose, being a big fan. But we all like to think that Frank didn't die, he just ducked out and moved to a small town with a decent indie scene and opened up a music store...

possibly, I'll look it up... but thanks for not digressing on Zappa like the rest of us :)
