I went to the doctor yesterday. He said, "I haven't seen you for a while", and I said "no, I've been ill."

Sometimes. Whenever I get something unusual I fear the worst. Like yesterday I found a spider bite on my shoulder and started worrying about what kind of spider it was and whether it would spread or get worse.

The thread title has actually made me feel even worse about the whole Black Death thing. I'm kinda itchy, and I fear the worst.

I was at the doctor's, and she told me I've got hypochondria. I said 'Oh no, not that aswell'.

I often get "hypochondria" and "hypothermia" confused. I've probably made a fool of myself on occasion and not realized it.

I actually have quite a big case of hypochondria. I've been to the doctor's 7 times in 3 months. It's really not the most enjoyable thing to have. Last year I literally believed I had cancer in two places and my parents thought that I was depressed over it. I thought I was going to die when it was really just a sore. You always think "Well that's just rediculous" but there's also something else in your head always telling you otherwise and suggesting any alternatives.

i usually think of the worst too. once i fell tired and thirsty so i wsent to the doctor to see if i had diabetes. they suspected anemia, but then it turned out they thought i had anorexia... what a day!

self diagnosis is the worst thing you can do. if i believed what all those medical books said then i would be dead now.

i think i have osteo-arthritis, but i have serious reason to believe so.

i'm not, i'm a real die-hard, a bit like the black knight in monty pythons "holy grail" i never get sick and when i do i'm in total denial

but my best friend... is a total hypochondriac, its very funny, he had "sars" "bird flu" the whole lot, if any new disease comes on the TV he will contract it within a few days, he's priceless and i love him to bits but would never call him hypochondriac to his face i just have to smile and nod my head in an understanding manner till he's well again.
